Vols @ the swamp

I know Tennessee just lost to UCLA and i'm still shocked and I know the gators are loaded but can Tennessee beat the high powered Gators?! If I was betting for money I would but it on the Gators UGH! But I have to believe in the Vols!!!! The only thing I ask you all on this forum is, do you believe in miracles?

Gentlemen, today we are the underdogs! The newspapers are predicting us to lose. The fans have their doubts. Some of you in this locker room have doubts about tonight's game. But, I?m here to tell you that it doesn?t matter what everyone else thinks. What does matter is how well you play the game and who?s on top when the game ends!

Let me tell you the story of the ?Miracle on Ice.? Some of you may be familiar with this story. Back in 1980 the US Olympic Men?s Hockey Team pulled off one of the biggest upsets in sports history. They were the underdogs and they captured the gold medals. They were a group of unknown college kids and amateurs who came together as one unit and upset a heavily favored team of Russian professionals.

Their coach, Herb Brooks, told them before the match that if they played the Russians ten times, they might lose nine out of ten, but they weren?t going to lose that one! He said ??One game. If we played 'em ten times, they might win nine. But not this game. Not tonight. Tonight, we skate with them. Tonight, we stay with them. And we shut them down because we can!...? That day?s game was going to be the one-in-ten that they win. Why? Because they can!

It has happened many times in history, ever since David defeated Goliath. The underdog can win! Why? Because they can! Nothing in life is guaranteed. They aren?t guaranteed a win tonight. The favorite team doesn?t always win. When they relax, when they let their guard down, when they take you for granted, and when you out-play them ? they will be defeated! Because they can!

In the infamous words of coach Herb Brooks, ?This is your time! Now go out there and take it!?

Do I think the Vols can go into Gainsville and beat Florida? I give them a 5% chance, however, as far as the betting part, I am taking the 32.5 points the oddsmakers are giving me and putting my money on it.

You can bet your house that Tebow is going to take a few shots this week though. Even though UCLA did come in and beat us their QB left the stadium and is out 3-4 weeks with a broken jaw from some sources I have seen.

Just imagine with me for a second if Crompton went into the swamp and led the Vols to victory. What would the people who have been calling for his head think???? A majority would say "oh he is great" while the minority would still say he sucks. Kinda like Wilhoit when he missed the PAT a few years ago to put the Vols ahead then later kicked a 51 yard FG to win it. In that span of time he received death threats on his phone which then later turned into "Just kidding, you are the man". Hopefully we will be saying that about Crompton after this weekend.

That defense will be on the field all **** day. No way in hell UT moves the ball against them consistently enough to give the defense a break. Once the 2nd half comes around, UF will score at will, IMO.

How would the D being on the field all day be any different than last year? Only 2 teams gave up less points to UF last year than UT. This years D looks more aggressive and probably better to me at UT. By the talk of the players, there no doubt in better shape. Meyer will want to run it up if given the opportunity though.
